A Bit of Perspective

Gerry Studds was Maritime Committee Chief when a shirttail relative worked as his aide on that committee. The AA for Studds warned his staff never to let the congressman into their bedrooms when they were travelling on committee business. Even so, my in-law on a couple of occasions was tempted when Studds knocked on his door late at night and said he wanted to "talk." Gerry was very persuasive, but my in-law turned him down. Here is what Wikipedia says about the page-chaser from Taxachusetts:
Studds, however, stood by the facts of the case and refused to apologize and even turned his back and ignored the censure being read to him. He called a press conference with the former page, in which both stated that they were consenting adults at the time of the relationship. The age of consent was and remains 17 in Washington DC. He stated that this was a private adult relationship, no laws had been broken, and therefore not the business of others to censure them for their private relationship. The people of Massachusetts agreed and he continued to be reelected until his retirement in 1996
.
Studds had actually consummated the "relationship" that the page's proximity had afforded the openly homosexual congressman.

You won't see the MSM bring the Studds example up. But Gerry-boy was hyper-aggressive and acted out his perverted passions.
