88 Year-Old Gets Iranian Interview: Did Wallace Ask About Hidden Imam?

So Mike Wallace finds Iranian Prez Ahmedinejad "impressive." Powerline puts this in perspective by reminding us that lots of journalists came away from Hitler [as did gull-in-chief Neville Chamberlain] convinced that he was a rational man whom the Brits could "do business with." Like mortuary science, I suppose.

I'll just bet Mike asked him some real hardball questions about his communing with the Twelveth Imam, who speaks to him out of his occlusion, according to the four foot ten midget Iranian prez [Chavez is over five foot, at eye level with Kim Jung Il and Jimmy Carter is at least five-three]. Excuse my heightism!

Plus TigerHawk notes that Wallace/Rather did not pick up on:
...his voluntary reference to Israel as "the
Zionist State". That is a socialist and Islamist way of referring to Israel as a creature of imperialism and it makes plain to me that Wallace sympathizes with Ahmedinejad’s anti-Zionism (at the very least)

Wallace always sympathized with the Palestinians to the extent that he wouldn't give the Israelis a blank check, as most media Jews in his heyday were willing to do. Bob Simon was another principled exception.

But now that Israel is under attack from powerful states like Iran and Syria, acting through proxies, Wallace should be more careful to keep his interview subjects from employing such epithets. As a member of the UN along with Israel, Iran should not designate a co-member in such a pejorative manner.

Unless Wallace/Rather were to throw "terrorist state" back at Ahmedinejad as the Iranians deserve to be known.
