A Plague on the House

Even the New York Times cannot maintain silence on the bribery/extortion case against Democratic Rep. Jefferson of the most corrupt city in the US and Canada.

I wrote a couple of blogs early this year on the strange silence of the MSM concerning Jefferson [and House ETHBICS Cte. member Hollohan] while TV and news outlets railed against "Republican corruption" and the Dem blogosphere [or rather the ultra-left crazies on the lunatic fringe of the Dem blogosphere] went ballistic when the WaPo Ombudsman implied that there were indications that the Dems were crooks too. [The WaPo had to shut down its blogsite as the equipment couldn't handle the obscene toxic sludge heaved and spewed by the vomit-crew on the angry left, if I recall].

Those who can recall remember Rep. Rostenkowski of Ill. going to jail back when the Dems were in power. And Bobby Baker way back when. And Jimmy Carter's pal who said "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Dems will become as corrupt as the Repubs have with Cunningham and DeLay, given the opportunity. Or more so. I know, I worked for the Dems. They mean well, but they cut corners all the time, because their ethical and moral relativism makes them even LESS liable to behave well than the occasionally morality-influenced Repubs.
