"Much have I seen and known; cities of men And manners, climates, councils, governments, ...the fortune of us that are the moon's men doth ebb and flow like the sea, being govern'd, as the sea is, by the moon" [Henry IV, I.ii.31-33] HISTORY NEVER REPEATS ITSELF, BUT IT OFTEN RHYMES "There is a Providence that protects idiots, drunkards, children and the United States of America." Otto von Bismarck

Da VincI: Agin it and Agin Those Agin It!
Weird Nigel Andrews's Scottish contrarianism suffuses almost all his movie reviews in the Financial Times, but he now becomes bipolar in contrarianizing both the movie Da Vinci Code and those who believe it's a load of bovine fecal material. He doesn't like Tom Hanks, he really doesn't like the French gamine Tautou and he really, really does like Ian McKellam---so I imagine he must have been one of John Gielgud's fans as well, and perhaps one of his young acolytes, judging from Andrews's consistent stances against anything smacking of the values that made western civ great in the first place.
