NEW YORKER: Where are your fact-checkers?

The New Yorker has a piece by Hendrick Hertzberg lambasting Dick Cheney from toe to top concerning the Veep's 18% approval rating.

Then, in a classic MSM mis-statement of fact, the ultra-left Hertzberg writes:
That same CBS News poll put President Bush’s favorability rating at twenty-nine per cent, also a personal worst.

Now a CBS Poll has been widely cited recently, although it happened to get a lot of methodological criticism for asking a much larger percentage of Democrats than Republicans, that Bush has a 34% approval rating.

Now Hertzberg has every right to exaggerate in the text, but when he cites a poll "released last Monday" that says 29%, he is playing fast and loose with facts, something the MSM accuse bloggers of doing at every opportunity.

Where are the famed New Yorker fact-checkers? Or is the New Yorker just a magazine version of "A Million Little Pieces?"
