UK Ipsos Poll Majority thinks AGWarming Tabloid Science

The BBC has a story about a major poll finding pointing out that the tabloid science, which US Nobel Physicist famously called "Cargo Cult Science, is just that---a steaming heap of tendentious hot air pushing an agenda to tax the very air we breathe, if of course we are one of the First World Nations.

China, India, and other "developing" countries are exempt. Being Communist, the PRC would find ways to dodge any compliance with the same ease as Iran dodges compliance with the IAEA in the UN or Saddam dodged weapons inspectors in pre-war Iraq. BBC says:

The Ipsos Mori poll of 2,032 adults - interviewed between 14 and 20 June - found 56% believed scientists were still questioning climate change. There was a feeling the problem was exaggerated to make money, it found.....The survey suggested that terrorism, graffiti, crime and dog mess were all of more concern than climate change.

The article ends with a Royal Society panjundrum Sir So-and-so orating his belief that "the complexity....yadda, yadda, yadda,....." which the public can translate can in its own common-sensical way interpret correctly as "Show me the money!"

Finally, everything Al Gore says loses credibility the more he says it. Just something about the way he said "the debate is over" in 1992 with endless iterations and increasingly strident whining intonation simply betrays a certain goofy lack of avoirdupois or gravitas or simple street cred.
