Londonistan Author Questions Gordon Brown's Spine

Melanie Philips sometimes sounds like Winston Churchill in the thirties, a lone voice of sanity in the swamps of cowardly appeasement that appear to be the response of the Labor government in the wake of the London/Glasgow atrocity attempts.

Many Brits have long wondered whether behind that sour dour Scottish puss of Gordon Brown lurked a Bolshie TUC mindset he was hiding as Tony Blair’s charisma worked its magic—--waiting like a crocodile for a chance to push again the anachronistic policies espoused most recently by Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales.

Okay, it’s just a straw in the wind and a cloud no bigger than a man’s hand, but this fellow looks like he might that ol-time labour religion. It would be a disaster for him to try to reverse the clock and deconstruct the brilliant achievements of Thatcher and Blair.

But his PC comments look like wild swings behind a blindfold at a pinata full of hopes and wishes. And while he's at it, why doesn't he just also deny the London/Glasgow attacks had anything to do with doctors.

Makes as much sense as what he and Jacqui Smith just said about Muslims not being connected with terrorism, just "communities."
