In his letter, Robinson, 58, said he has been dealing with alcoholism for years and had considered it "as a failure of will or discipline on my part, rather than a disease over which my particular body simply has no control, except to stop drinking altogether."
Hmmm... As a Roman Catholic, I understand homosexuality as a "failure of the will..." to overcome tendencies which many men or women have to be attracted to or have sexual relations with persons of the same gender.
Why isn't that the case for Bishop Robinson?
Is alcohol so different from sex?
