WaPo attempts balance; Gets Flamed by Angry Left

Editor & Publisher have an article entitled "Uproar Over 'Post' Hire Shows Blogs Have Really Arrived!"

But the gist of the article is that the WaPo, unlike its heedless competitor in NYC, has realized that its commentary needs to reflect both sides of the political debate.

Of course, the hyperventilating methamphetamine leftie bloggers spew wildly with their characteristic mis-spellings, obscenities, and grammatical mistakes. Much of their hysteria is sheer dementia, and can be disregarded. Sometimes, they stumble onto a truth, but foraging through the underbrush of distortion, urban legend, and sheer dishonesty to arrive at a genuine fact or insight is, to mix a metaphor, to open a thousand mussels in search of a single pearl.

Of course, the Nibelungs of the left are furiously digging for material in the thousands of blogs Ben Domenech has left as a monumental paper trail. These clueless sleuths will undoubtedly unearth an occcasional malapropism or exaggeration, but the unaccountable, irresponsible, exempt angry lefties are not taken seriously unless an anti-Semitic or racially insensitive mistake is uncovered. Or a statement that could imply that inherent differences in the skill-sets of the two main genders exist, a fact this post-modern age suppresses as heretical.

"Oddly, in his first post of the day, Domenech himself had attacked, among other things, "the shrieking denizens" of the Democrats' "increasingly extreme base...the unhinged elements of their base, motivated by partisan rage."

Why "oddly," since Domenech knew he would be flamed by the pitchfork and torch-bearing serfs of the lefty wasteland? Post Ombudsman Howell suffered days of relentless personal attacks for daring to imply that Jack Abramoff took care of both sides of the aisle in his quest for favors and possible earmarks. How dare the truth, even if slightly mis-stated, be printed in an MSM organ of the Left?

But happily, The Post and a lot of other publications and TV networks and cable operations are beginning to realize that the media penchant for the social-engineering and helping-profession pseudo-science of the left simply drives a silent plurality to media outlets inclusive of religious, social, and cultural values excluded from the left's canon of political rectitude.

So let the moonbats twitter and screech in their twilight existence. High noon is the time when perceptions are clearest and mental faculties perform their best.
