The Packer/Steeler battle of the legacies did draw the biggest audience EVER in US TV history. Not only did it draw 4.5 million more than Super Bowl XLIV last year, but the total viewers were almost TEN million higher than the Colt-Saints struggle last year.
Look at the TV by the Numbers link and find out the various breakdowns of these two sets of numbers by media markets---one hint: Milwaukee and Pittsburgh were exact ties at 59.7/87 for their respective markets, both the second-highest in Super Bowl history after Chicago's 63 rating in SuperBowl XX twenty five years ago.
"Much have I seen and known; cities of men And manners, climates, councils, governments, ...the fortune of us that are the moon's men doth ebb and flow like the sea, being govern'd, as the sea is, by the moon" [Henry IV, I.ii.31-33] HISTORY NEVER REPEATS ITSELF, BUT IT OFTEN RHYMES "There is a Providence that protects idiots, drunkards, children and the United States of America." Otto von Bismarck
