Abscam Escapee Murtha Tries to Oust Hoyer

Murtha was busted on tape in the Abscam debacle in the early '80s, but like Alcee Hastings on the Intelligence Committee, Murtha is trying to prove that a crime record, [or a record as an unindicted co-conspirator] is no hindrance to high position in the Democratic leadership.

Steny Hoyer is one of the few decent human beings in the upper reaches of the Democratic House, which puts him at odds with the Star Wars bar scene misfits like Hastings, Murtha, Rangel, Conyers, Dingel, Franks, and other near misses like Waxman and Pelosi.
